Dear Parents and Carers
As you will see, Myton has appointed Andy Perry, our current Deputy Head Teacher, as Interim Head Teacher. I know Andy will do a fantastic job as he is a very experienced and talented senior leader who has been a Deputy in two schools, has a wealth of experience and will take this opportunity with both hands.
In terms of my position, I have always felt that if the school has a new or interim head, the second half of the summer term is the time for them to make the really big decisions in terms of appointments and strategy. Therefore, the governors have very kindly allowed me to complete my contract at Myton on the 31 May, and due to holiday entitlement, my final day at Myton will be Friday 20 May.
In school we have a good deal of strategic decision making to do next week, working with partners to look at our progress and to establish key points in the next part of our journey as a school. Our governors are talented, engaged, informed and very proactive. We are all extremely grateful for the commitment they make both during the day and in the evenings to help make our school so effective.
Next week we have our Year 7 Parents’ Evening, the completion of various reviews and the final preparation for the majority of examinations which will start in approximately 20 school days.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards
Paul MacIntyre
