When Year 9 student, Beth Sanders turned up to tutor time recently with short hair and explained she’d donated her long hair to the Little Princess Trust, her form tutor Miss Keatley decided to do the same. The charity provides real hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
A family friend going through chemotherapy got Beth thinking about the effects of cancer treatment and prompted her to make the donation. “I just thought other people need it more than I do,” she said.
“I saw Bethany had cut her hair shorter,” said Mrs Keatley, “And when she told me she had donated it to the Little Princess Trust and how they make wigs for children going through chemotherapy I was so impressed by her altruistic gesture, I did the same. I hope others are also inspired to donate to this cause and that Bethany has started a wave of generosity.”
