Year 13 student Sam Jones has recently had his first illustrated book published. Sam is one of our talented artists and almost two years ago he was asked by writer, Chris Goodyear, to illustrate a book about his child’s favourite toys, Bodgit and Fixit. Sam was able to take Chris’s space adventure story line and stick man sketches and create a fully illustrated book to accompany the text.

“It took a long time,” says Sam. “There are 16 pages of illustrations and each one took about 6 to 7 hours to create. But it was really interesting to work on such a different project and to see the book emerge.”

Sam has recently been given an unconditional offer to study Fine Art at his first choice university, Oxford Brookes, next year.
