If you’re thinking of getting your child a smartphone for Christmas, or any device that enables them to take and share images, you might be interested in a free app called SelfieCop.
SelfieCop is an app that you download onto your child’s device and you can set it up in one of two modes:
- Where the young person will be reminded about sharing images, hopefully to make them stop and think before hitting send.
- Where the parent will see the images as well as the young person getting the reminder.
The aim is to make young people think more carefully about what they are snapping and sharing. At the moment it is only available for Android devices. You can find out more on their website.
