We’ve been contacted by Mrs Sandell, mum of Lauren Sandell from Essex who sadly died from meningococcal W meningitis and septicaemia (MenW) last year when she was just 18 years old. Mrs Sandell has asked us to urge all of you in Year 13 to go to your GP and ask for the free MenACWY vaccine to protect yourselves from this new and deadly strain of meningitis.
Mrs Sandell is working with the Meningitis Research Foundation to raise awareness amongst all young people in this age group and has published this video on YouTube to help spread the word.
