Dear Parents and Carers
We will be joined next Tuesday evening by Matt Western MP to celebrate student achievements at our annual Awards Evening. It will be a pleasure to welcome families to the event at Warwick Hall and I look forward to handing out the awards to all our fantastic students for their range of successes.
The event celebrates a student’s life through the school, with awards going to all year groups, and at the end of the programme is a list of last year’s leavers’ destinations. We were delighted that over 85% of our 2016-17 Year 13 cohort went to university and, in nearly all cases, it was their first choice. The range of courses they are studying is both impressive and varied and we look forward to hearing about their progress.
Many former students come back to speak to our younger students about their work and studies, or just pop in to say hello from time to time. This week alone we welcomed into school Taz Kang who came to talk to students about his research in the field of psychology at Warwick University. And on Thursday, ex-Myton students Sam Hatton Brown and Alex Harvey were in school demonstrating some uses of virtual reality and talking about current developments in this cutting edge field of technology.
All of us here at Myton look forward to congratulating our award winners next week and maintaining a relationship with them whatever they go on to do.
