Last week was World Antibiotic Awareness Week and our Year 10 students had a visit from our local NHS Trust as part of their fight against antibiotic resistance. Sharon Stuart, Infection Prevention & Control Commissioning Nurse, Julie Wilkinson, Lead Pharmacist and Farah Supto, Consultant Microbiologist spoke to students, highlighting the steps you can take to minimise the risk of infection and also discussed how antibiotics work, demonstrating when they are helpful and when over the counter remedies are more suitable.
