Four of our Year 9 students attended a recent training session at the Royal Shakespeare Company to learn all about virtual reality and using a 360 camera. They worked with RSC directors on the staging and re-telling of the assassination scene from Julius Caesar. In the afternoon they worked with a top film maker who specialises in 360 storytelling. We’re very grateful to Samsung for donating the kit to school and some of our classes have been having a great time putting it to good use. Mr Heggs’ Year 7 English class were using it to explore Shakespearean insults and recording student performances.
The students were very enthusiastic in their delivery of the insults and we’re all impressed by the potential of this new technology in the classroom. In the coming months we will be using the equipment to make a film for a competition.
