A group of Year 8 & 9 students are taking part in an initiative called Go4SET which offers a 10-week Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project and forges links between students and employers.
Our students have decided that their project will be ‘The Business of Recycling’ and they will be linking up with Grupo Antolin based at Tachbrook Park in Leamington Spa. A mentor from Grupo Antolin will help to support our students through the various stages of the project, which involves investigating how materials are used and disposed of in school. They can then hopefully identify ways to reduce waste and the impact on the environment.
Our students are all keen and ready to participate. The project will be showcased with a presentation at the Big Bang Science Fair event at the NEC in a couple of months.
