Dear Parents & Carers
I’d like to thank our local Morrisons store who have supplied our exam students with water and fruit this week to help them prepare for their GCSEs and A levels. As we tell our students, 20% of their calorie intake is burned by the brain so they must give it fuel, hence the fruit. Unbelievably, some still tell us that they are not eating breakfast in the morning before exams which will hinder their performance. It’s the same with water: the brain needs hydration as well as fuel to work so thanks again to Morrisons and in particular Babs Ward, their Community Champion, for donating the bottled water. I’m also grateful to the Friends of Myton School for agreeing to cover the cost of the fruit to see us through the whole exam period.
We are still running our two approaches to the exams for Year 11, with some students allowed study leave and others not. We have been reviewing this with some students but urge all Year 11s to take advantage of the booster classes whether they have study leave or not. Mr Cannon is writing to parents today to remind everybody of what is expected.
With best wishes
Andy Perry – Head Teacher
