Huge congratulations to the Year 10 athletics team who overcame the challenge from King’s High to win the Mid Warwickshire Athletics District Championships by 2 points and retain the title.
Several girls in the team won their event: Grace Fairweather (100m), Abbie Blick (Shot & Discus) and Tia Norton (Javelin).
Abby Jolley (High Jump), Millie Wiseman (1500m), Amy Edgar (Triple Jump) and the 4 x 100m Relay team gained podium finishes, and Anais Cleaver, Grace Ring & Lucy Barratt further helped the team to this success, gaining valuable points in their events.
Further Athletics success
The Year 9 girls & boys and Year 10 boys finished just outside the top 3 in the District Championships, but the following students achieved valuable wins in their events and have earned themselves a place to represent Central Warwickshire in the County Athletics Championships: Ben Makinson (100m), Gabriel Ball (200m & Shot), Faith Tooze (Long Jump) & Maddie Smith (Javelin).
