Mrs Charlesworth’s Year 8 science class found a new use for jelly babies and wooden skewers recently when they used them to learn about waves. They constructed the wave machine, observed the movement of the waves and predicted how varying things like weight would affect the speed of the waves. The experiment led to a discussion about waves in the real world and how we can draw conclusions about their features by observing natural phenomena.
