Dear Parents & Carers
We have debated in school whether to acknowledge the day the United Kingdom leaves the European Union with the students through assemblies or activities. What should we say? What tone should we adopt? How do we discuss it without swaying students’ opinions and/or falling out? A very welcome quiet seems to have settled over the country regarding Brexit and we are loath to disturb it, so in the end we decided to leave well alone. Our school halls are used for other things today anyway!
So rather than discussing Brexit, I would like to publicly thank all those students and staff involved in our production of Rock of Ages which finishes tonight. It’s an ambitious project and the students have been working on it very hard for a long time. Thanks to all who have come to watch the show, or are coming this evening, and thanks to Mrs Stringer, Miss Arliss and Ms Harrisson for their ambition, the work they have put into getting it ready and the support and coaching they have provided for the students.
With best wishes
Andy Perry – Head Teacher
