In the Drama department at Myton, we aim to deliver a curriculum that challenges and inspires our students, encourages them to be aspirational in their achievements both in the classroom and beyond it. We aim to continue to foster a love of learning by using outstandingly taught lessons; key stage and industry focused clubs; theatre trips domestic and overseas; showcases and whole school performances. It is our intention to deliver a curriculum to support prior learning and inspire development through appropriate challenge.
Our curriculum is planned based on the requirements from A-Level and GCSE to underpin the three strands of assessment; creating theatre (devised), reading theatre (scripted) and writing about theatre (text study). It is our aim that the delivery of these schemes of learning is consistently high across the department.
We intend for the combination of subject knowledge, passion, and an enjoyment of study to lead our students to become actors, directors, designers, and playwrights.
