Two representatives from Willmott Dixon (the construction company working on our new Sixth Form building) were guest speakers at our Year 12 assembly this week. Students found out that a career with Willmott Dixon is about more than just construction and were given real food for thought about the varied roles available in this sector.
We heard from Lewis, an apprentice at the company who was in the same position as our Year 12 students only 5 years ago. Lewis talked the students through his career journey to date and the importance of gaining work experience and being persistent. As our Year 12 students have a week dedicated to work experience next half term it was an excellent opportunity to see where these first steps can take them.
We wish Lewis all the best in his future career!
If you are interested in being a guest speaker our Sixth Form team would love to hear from you. Maybe you have a story to share, a message to give or would like to raise awareness about a cause or passion. We welcome you to come and speak to our young people to enthuse, inspire and broaden the horizons of our Sixth Form. Please email [email protected].
