English Schools Track & Field Cup
Well done to all students who recently took part in the Warwickshire round of the English Schools Track & Field Cup.
Nearly 60 Myton students participated in the event, with four teams entered across four different age groups.
There were 10 Warwickshire schools involved and our teams did extremely well, all finishing in the top 6 with the junior girls finishing fourth overall.
Every student performed with enthusiasm and commitment and it was a real pleasure to see their positive efforts.
Warwickshire Schools Combined Events Championships
Our congratulations also to the four teams of students who took part in the Warwickshire Schools Combined Events Championships.
This involved students competing in a variety of athletic events in one afternoon, gaining points for the distances and times achieved.
All Myton teams performed excellently, but our Year 7 girls’ team did particularly well, taking home a third place out of 10 schools competing.
There were notable top 10 individual successes for Sofia in Year 9 (who has been selected for the Warwickshire team) and Charlotte in Year 7, who finished in the top 10.
Year 9 and 10 District Athletics Championships
The Year 9 and 10 athletics teams competed in the District Championships at Edmondscote this week.
The teams competed well, with the Year 10 girls’ team finishing one point short of first place and the Year 10 boys also finishing second. The Year 9 boys finished a close third and Year 9 girls in fifth place (which was only 11 points behind first place, so a close competition).
Congratulations to the following students who, after finishing in the top two places in the Championships, have been selected to represent both the school and the District in the County Championships on 10 June:
