Dear Parents and Carers
We had our BeReal event on Tuesday, part of our Black History Month celebrations. I am very proud of the students who performed on stage, shared their stories with the audience, supported the workshops and the whole event. As The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) explained in their January 2023 paper, education can and should be a sector which builds strength through diversity, and in order to achieve that, we must be prepared to reflect and change our approach both as a school and an education system.
Therefore, I was delighted to see our students front and centre of this event, and with their leadership we can be more confident we will take steps towards building strength through our diversity at Myton School.
My sincere thanks to Mrs Zahran and Mrs Bhatoe who led this event, all the students who took positions of responsibility, our guests who spoke in the performance or put on workshops, the Gurdwara who donated delicious food and our staff who supported the event. Thank you also to those who attended the event, including the Mayor of Warwick. It was a great evening.
Best wishes
Andy Perry
