Poppy Appeal
We are supporting the Poppy Appeal this year. Remembrance Day poppies will be available to students for a cash donation in form time and at break/lunchtime outside Upper School Hall from Monday 4 November (paper poppies have no minimum donation amount, metal poppies are a minimum £1 donation please).
Cycle helmet appeal
We are aware that some of our students cycle to and from school without cycle helmets. Studies show that wearing a cycle helmet reduces risk of serious head injury by almost 70% and fatal head injury by 65%. A recent cycling accident involving one of our students would have been much more serious had they not been wearing their cycle helmet.
Please could parents and carers strongly encourage their child to wear a cycle helmet when riding their bike.
Further information on cycle safety can be found here and you can watch James Cracknell’s cycle helmet appeal below.

Safe cycle path use
A reminder to cyclists and pedestrians to please use the cycle/pedestrian lanes safely when travelling to and from school. It can get very busy on the paths but pedestrians should not walk in the cycle lanes and cyclists should be mindful of pedestrians walking near them and cycle safely to avoid accidents.
