The Dave Walker Gym
At the end of the school year we said goodbye to Mr Walker, who retired after 35 years of teaching PE at Myton. In recognition of his contribution to the school, we are delighted to announce that the building previously known as the Girls’ Gym has now been renamed The Dave Walker Gym.

Incident in St Nicholas Park
We have been made aware of a further incident at St Nicholas Park which happened during the holidays involving a student from another school who had their bicycle stolen by a group of youths. Please speak to your young people about keeping safe and avoiding confrontations or unknown groups in the park. The police should be contacted immediately if there are any incidents and students should keep themselves safe rather than filming on their phone.

Parking near school
Please could we remind parents to be considerate when parking on Myton Crescent and other roads near school, ensuring that residents’ driveways can be accessed not only by cars but by delivery vans/lorries and emergency vehicles. A ‘driveway’ width between cars is not sufficient should a larger van or lorry need to access the driveway. Thanks to all parents & carers for their support.

A Goodbye from Dave Walker
Well, I am finally hanging up my boots while I can still bend down to undo my laces after 35 years of teaching PE at Myton School. When so many students tell me that I used to teach their parents, it worries me that one day soon I will have taught grandparents too, so I need to make a swift exit.
I never planned to stay here this long.
