Holocaust Memorial Day 2024
Residents and school pupils gathered at the Warwick War Memorial last week to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. Four Year 9 students, Bea, Emma, Noah and Sam attended on behalf of Myton School. This year’s theme for the Memorial Day was ‘Fragility of Freedom’, and Bea and Sam read a poem by Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel called ‘Never Shall I Forget’.
The Reverend Jonathan Hearn remarked at the end of the ceremony that ‘Never Shall I Forget’ is powerful sentiment which reminds us that freedom should never be taken for granted’
Please see link for an article regarding the event in the Observer.

Meeting to discuss safeguarding of park users
A meeting has been arranged by the Friends of St. Nicholas Park with three District Ward Councillors next month to discuss the safeguarding of users of St Nicholas Park. Of particular interest is the area used by school children on their route to school, especially in light of the recent incidents at the park involving young people. Councillors are looking at the possibility of further CCTV coverage and are seeking local support.

Crochet and Knitting Club
We have had a fantastic term in the Crochet and Knitting Club with an average of 30 students attending each week.
Students have learnt how to crochet and have worked a variety of their own projects. We look forward to continuing in the New Year.
The club takes place on a Wednesday straight after school.
