Parents & carers are advised to keep an eye out for head lice and nits, as this is a common problem affecting school-aged children and their families.

Though head lice and nits may be a nuisance, they don’t cause serious illness or carry any diseases and can be treated at home with a fine tooth comb or over-the-counter medication. See the NHS website for more details.

Year 8 student Harvey was recently nominated by Mrs Harrisson for a one year scholarship with the Contemporary Youth Choir.

As part of his scholarship Harvey performed at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham last Saturday with both the Contemporary Youth and Adult Choir.

At the end of last term the whole of Year 7 had a fantastic day visiting Silverstone Circuit and Museum.

Students got to handle racing gear and car parts, hear about some of the important design and safety features in F1 cars, see an array of racing memorabilia and even walk a historic part of the famous track.

Thank you to Kissing it Better Sixth Form volunteers Jenna, Darcey and Cleo who spread some Christmas joy at Warwick Hospital last month through song and by delivering handmade Christmas cards. You really helped brighten up the day for patients!

Look out for former student Karenjeet Kaur Bains, who makes her debut as Athena on BBC’s Gladiators on Saturday evening.

Year 9 and 10 students Isaac, Silas, Lucy, Layla, Laiba, Matteo, Alex, Jacob and Rajveer organised and delivered French language workshops at Coten End Primary School at the end of last term.

Ms Santos and Coten End Languages teacher Mrs Alison were impressed with the commitment and originality shown by our students when delivering the workshops, and they were a credit to Myton School.

Well done to you all!

The Foodbank have thanked parents, students and staff who donated food before Christmas to help support families in need. Myton’s donation weighed in at an impressive 64.5kg, equating to a monetary value of £152.87.

The Foodbank support on average 480 people (44% of whom are children) a month with food parcels, which is an increase of 41% since 2022. The Foodbank are very grateful for your support, which helps them make a real difference to those who receive emergency food parcels.

The theme in tutor groups next week is ‘Inclusion and Belonging’, and tutors will be sharing wellbeing tips with students. Please see the flyer below for further information.
