Year 10 student Tom travelled to Croatia this week to represent England in an international tournament playing against the USA, Croatia, Morocco and France. Tom played in all four games and the England team topped their group. Unfortunately they lost their next game against France, but still put in a great performance. We are all so proud of Tom for this amazing achievement and look forward to hearing about more of his successes in the future. Congratulations Tom!

Warwickshire Track and Field Cup
Congratulations to the 50 students who represented Myton at the Warwickshire Track and Field Cup event in Rugby. Students competed in two different events (a combination of a track and a field event), and despite facing tough competition from many Warwickshire schools all our year groups finished in the top 6, with many students achieving personal best scores.

The Year 10 team also reached the final and put in a great performance, but unfortunately lost 3-2 to Aylesford School.

Tia is living the dream as Britain’s top padel player
Former student Tia travels all over the world as Britain’s top padel player, recently competing in tournaments in Cairo (reaching the Quarter Finals) and Dubai (Semi Finals). The sport is a combination of tennis and squash and is gaining in popularity, with celebrities including David Beckham and Stormzy playing in their spare time. It is also hoped that it will be approved as an Olympic sport in the 2032 games. You can read the BBC’s report on Tia here.
Sporting round-up
Well done to our Year 7 netball team who beat Aylesford 20-18 in a narrowly fought Mid Warwickshire Plate Final this week. They had played Aylesford earlier in the season and had lost quite convincingly so it was great to see how well the team had progressed.
Congratulations also to our Year 8 girls’ sportshall athletics team who represented the area in the Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire School Games Finals this week. They performed exceptionally well as a team and won team bronze.
