Dear Parents & Carers
I really enjoyed meeting the parents and children who came along to our Open Evening yesterday. It was pleasing to hear so much positive feedback. Please do let us know if you have any questions about any aspect of the school or admissions in general. We are running tours throughout October which can be booked by phoning 01926 493805 or emailing [email protected].
I’d like to say a huge thank you to the many students who were an integral part of the event. You made it the success it was. From Year 7 students showcasing our sports provision, to Year 8 & 10 acting as tour guides, and the many sixth formers who helped to welcome our visitors and talk about their subjects with such enthusiasm – you were a credit to your parents and the school.
On Wednesday night we also opened our doors, this time to welcome back around 50 former students who were at Myton in our first 20 years between 1968 and 1988. It was a great evening and very entertaining. It was touching to see people meeting up for the first time in 30 years or so and reminiscing about their school days.
We were able to show off our fantastic art work before taking our guests around the school to see how much it has changed since their time here. As with all school-based events and trips, I ended up with a group of ‘naughty’ boys, though in this case they were boys back in the 1970s. As we went round, more and more memories came back about what they got up to as kids – some of it shocking – but a lot of it very funny! Most of what they discussed can’t be written about here but it did make us laugh!
I’d like to thank everyone who attended the event and we will keep you posted as soon as we finalise the details of other activities to mark Myton’s 50th birthday.
Thank you for your support.
