Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to all the students and parents who joined us for our celebration evening last night along with our guest of honour Karenjeet Kaur Bains (ex Myton multi award winning powerlifter and currently Athena in the Gladiators). It was wonderful to celebrate the achievements of our students and we will look forward to more of these events next year, your kids achieve wonderful things and we want to celebrate this with you.
As it’s the final weekly of the year, I’d like to bid a fond farewell to the staff moving on to new things next year. Among colleagues leaving are Emma Clark, Head of Psychology who has been at Myton for 23 years and Jan Bishop, my PA, who has had to put up with me for 7 ½ years demonstrating saint-like patience. I wish these colleagues and all others who are moving on very best wishes in whatever comes next.
Finally, I’d like to thank everybody in our community: kids, parents, staff, neighbours and all other stakeholders in Myton for your support this year. We end the year in a good place with very strong forecasts and beginning the process of a school rebuild. However, this has only been because our whole community came together through September and October to make sure the mess around RAAC and the subsequent political games played by those in charge of education back then didn’t define our year and damage our kids. My sincere thanks to you all and best wishes for the summer.
Best wishes
Andy Perry
