Head Teacher Message

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to everyone who braved the rain last night to join us for our Open Evening. The awful weather didn’t dampen our spirits and it was a fantastic evening. We were proud to showcase our new modular buildings, home to our Art, Languages, Maths, Music and Photography departments and our new Sixth Form Centre. There were activities going on all over the school in all departments: VR sets in ICT, heart dissection in Science, giant Scrabble in English and many more. A big thank you to all our students who volunteered as tour guides for the evening, to our staff and to all our visitors. Below are just a few of the photos from last night.

General News

Year 12 Freshers’ Week

Year 13 students welcomed Year 12 students by hosting a Freshers’ Week this week. There have been lots of activities including a social lunch, cake sale and a Sports Day. It’s been a lot of fun and thank you to our Year 13 students for welcoming Year 12 so warmly!

Bike thefts

We have noticed an increase recently in bike thefts from young people. Please ask your child to be vigilant when biking to and from school. Thank you.

School tours

If you missed our Open Evening last night, or if you would like to come and see our school again, we are holding school tours on the following dates:

Brühl German-Music exchange

Ms Harrisson and Mr Caves will be taking a group of Myton students to Brühl, Germany in April on our popular German-Music exchange trip (now in its 31st year). This visit is open to all students at Myton who are studying German, have an interest in German, have a German family connection or with an interest in music (for example studying music for GCSE or A level, playing an instrument in or out of school or taking part in one of our music ensembles).
