Dear Parents
We are proud and delighted to announce that, following a rigorous two-day process, we have appointed Mr Andy Perry as permanent Head Teacher of Myton School. Mr Perry performed to an exceptional standard amongst a strong national field of candidates.
The Governing Board is confident that Mr Perry will continue the excellent work he started as Interim Head, following the Ofsted inspection in January 2016. Indeed, our Ofsted Inspector acknowledged the impact Mr Perry has already made during their monitoring visit in July. We are looking forward to working together to deliver our shared vision of a highly successful community school.
All candidates at this week’s interviews were asked to submit a ‘pen portrait’ summarising their career history, and for those of you who don’t know Mr Perry’s background, here is his pen portrait:
“I have gained experience in four schools since 1999, including the King John School in Essex, a large comprehensive of around 2,000 students, where I was Head of Year before promotion to Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for achievement and standards. I have been a senior leader for 11 years, holding a range of responsibilities, including school improvement, and was Deputy Head for Teaching and Learning at the Petersfield School in Hampshire before joining Myton School as Deputy Head in April 2011. I have been Interim Head Teacher at Myton School since May 2016.”
I hope that you will join with me and the rest of the Board of Governors in congratulating Andy.
Best wishes
Diane Burley – Chair of Governors
