Here is what Book Club discussed today…
These are our favourite books, not necessarily our all-time favourites due to the fact that some of our views keep changing! We have to consider (and we love the fact) that brilliant new books keep being published.
For example, Black Moon by L A Weatherly is a very good end to the trilogy with a brilliant epilogue too. It is a dystopian novel set in the time period that should have been World War Two (the novel ends in June 1943) but it describes a very different world where war is illegal.
Elsewhere is by Gabrielle Zevin which is about a girl who dies unexpectedly and the afterlife she experiences is completely different to any believed in by her society. The protagonist is a teenager who meets with many interesting characters from her past.
The Secret of the Old Clock is the first in a series by Carolyn Keene. Nancy Drew is the main character in these books and she just cannot keep still! Her adventures involve solving crime and then revealing her solutions to the police!
