Those Year 9 students taking part in the Industrial Cadets initiative achieved their Bronze Level Award this week (equivalent to the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award) after presenting their designs for an eco-friendly housing estate.
The students presented their designs, in teams, to Mr Perry, Mr Garner and representatives from Wilmott Dixon (Maria Wilkes, Head of Social Value, and Ian Atkinson, Site Manager) and answered questions on budget, sustainability, and the reasoning behind their decisions. Each presentation and design was scored on how successfully it met the project brief given to each team.
All of the designs and presentations were impressive, but the winning team was announced as Enigma (well done to Darius, Oliver and Charlie), who received a prize of Amazon vouchers.
Well done to all involved, and to Willmott Dixon for supporting our students with this initiative.
We hope that our students build upon this award and consider working towards their Gold and Silver Level Awards in the future.
