This week we welcomed Simon Hunka (Barrister and Head of Pupillage at No5 Chambers) and Ammo Khanna (Pupil at No5 Chambers) to work with our Law students as they prepare for their first moot.
Simon and Ammo brought their extensive experience and passion for advocacy to the session, offering invaluable insights into the world of barristers. They shared their journeys, discussed the challenges and rewards of the profession, and provided practical guidance that will be instrumental in our students’ development.
During the session, Simon and Ammo also introduced the students to court etiquette, the structure of a moot, and the specific roles involved, ensuring they are well-prepared for their upcoming experience. Their expertise brought the legal world to life, bridging the gap between theory and practice in an engaging and accessible way.
Students shared that hearing about their cases was “incredibly inspiring”, with one student noting that their insights and passion solidified her ambition to pursue a career as a criminal barrister or solicitor.
The enthusiasm and dedication Simon and Ammo displayed have left a lasting impact, encouraging our students to approach their future in law with confidence, curiosity, and excitement.
A huge thank you to Simon and Ammo for their generosity, time, and effort in inspiring the next generation of legal professionals. It was a privilege to have them with us, and we hope to collaborate with them again soon!
