The time has come for me to stand down as Head of Montgomery House. I have been privileged to lead Montgomery House through the change to Vertical Tutoring and I hope that all the students in my house are proud to wear the badge. A particularly proud moment for me was when Montgomery House won Sports Day this year, through grit, determination and participation.
Mr Hibbard, who has worked at Myton before, is coming back to lead the House and I know he will do a great job. This week I handed over to him our original letter from Field Marshal Montgomery of Alamein, written to the school in October 1968 after finding out that the new house was going to be named Montgomery House after him. He finished his letter with the following phase:
“I hope that all who work and belong to the House will always live up to the high traditions of the British Army, and of Warwickshire.”
And while I move on to pastures new I will always look fondly back on my time as Head of Montgomery House and will still root for them on Sports Day and in everything else.
Mr Hibbard – the new Head of Montgomery House
