On Thursday 19th January Warwickshire Schools Library Service presented Lucy Thompson, our Learning Resource Centre Manager with a prestigious Gold Award.
It is just over four years since the former LRC Manager, Elaine Dodson, was presented with the very first award in Warwickshire (also a Gold!). The award is open to primary and secondary schools across the county and enables school library staff to show how well their service is performing.
The occasion also saw Ella Davies, one of our student librarians, receive a certificate for her services.
Presenting the Award to Lucy Thompson, Stella Thebridge, Manager of the Schools Library Service, said:
“We are thrilled that Myton is the first school to revalidate their SLS award, again achieving the Gold standard. This is no surprise to us, as it reflects the dedication and experience of the staff and students involved with running the LRC here. We are also delighted that Ella did so well in our first Student Librarian Award. We expect this to be an annual feature in our calendar with a strong contender every year from Myton School.”
