Warwick, December 2023 – Myton School’s Year 10 Business Studies learners recently wrapped up an exhilarating and festive enterprise challenge that brought out the entrepreneurial spirit in every participant. The competition, appropriately named the “Festive Business Extravaganza”, saw students engage in a dynamic and creative process of planning, designing and presenting their very own Christmas-themed business ideas.
After an intense competition that spanned two hours of planning, one hour of prototyping, and an hour of presentations, the triumphant team emerged: Charlie, Jayden and Daniel. Together, they wowed the judges and their peers with their “Sweetmas Christmas CupCake Business Plan”.
The winning team’s cupcake business showcased a perfect blend of creativity, market understanding and effective presentation skills. Their 60-second sales pitch not only highlighted the delectable qualities of their cupcakes but also demonstrated a solid grasp of the mini marketing mix, including product design, pricing strategy and business location.
To honour their achievement, Charlie, Jayden and Daniel were awarded celebratory rubber duckies and got a taste of the “Billionaire life” as they were showered in money, courtesy of the school’s fun money gun.
Mrs Foster, the Business Studies subject lead at Myton School, expressed her pride in all the learners who participated in the challenge. “It has been a great term in Business, and we are so proud of the progress all our learners have made. The Festive Business Extravaganza not only allowed students to showcase their creativity but also helped them develop essential entrepreneurial skills that will serve them well in the future”.
The challenge was designed to be both educational and entertaining, encouraging students to work collaboratively, think critically and present their ideas with confidence. The success of the event highlights the dedication of the students and the effectiveness of the Business Studies program at Myton School.
As the term concludes, Myton School looks forward to building on the momentum generated by the Festive Business Extravaganza and continuing to nurture the business leaders of tomorrow.
