Former Myton student and singer songwriter Rhianna Emms came into school on Tuesday 10th January to talk to students in Years 7, 8 and 9 about e-safety matters including her own personal experience of cyber bullying and how she managed to deal with it. She stressed to students how putting something onto the internet needs to be viewed as permanent since it once shared, it is out of your control and can’t be removed. She also discussed how she managed to rise above the inevitable negative comments she has received since her own online profile has grown.
Many thanks to Rhianna for sharing her experience – as well as some of her songs – with us and providing our students with some food for thought.
