During the Easter holidays, a group of our students in Years 8-13 spent five days in Sicily. They had the opportunity to visit Mount Etna, the Alcantara Gorge, the town of Taormina and the island of Vulcano where they climbed a volcano and swam in the sea and mud pools.
Here’s what two of the students had to say about the experience:
“The trip to Sicily was one of the best trips I’ve been on. Every day was full of amazing opportunities and spectacular views. Having the opportunity to go to the top of one of the most active volcanoes in the world was an amazing experience and something that will stick with me. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone as it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” – George Harding (Year 13)
“I had an amazing time in Italy. It was an experience I will never forget. Everything we did, like the volcanoes, the gorge and even pizza making were brilliant. The best part of the trip was meeting new people and making new friends.” – Rebecca Harding (Year 11)
Miss Hawkes, who organised the trip said: “Thank you to all the staff for giving up their time and for making the trip so enjoyable. The students were a credit to our school, such excellent company to be with.”
