In Photography, we are striving for a department where both students and staff can enjoy teaching and learning. All students should feel safe and confident within our classrooms to express their opinions and explore ideas creatively without fear of judgement. We aim to provide opportunities for all students to reach or exceed their target grades through working on original and challenging practical projects that are designed and resourced to remove barriers to learning. We want clear progression from KS3 to KS5 in our students’ acquisition of technical, visual, analytical and conceptual skills. All students must understand the assessment criteria at each level and be able to produce work that fulfils them; in this way, they will make progress and attain their best possible standard of work. We are striving for a culture of all-round excellence where hard work is valued, success is celebrated, independence and creativity are expected, and both staff and students collaborate generously with each other.
